We know that more than 100 residents and property owners in the Capon Valley have written to Allegheny Energy to protest its proposed power line routes through our communities.
Send us a copy of your letter by email to caponvalleycoalition@yahoo.com, and we will make it a blog post on the Capon Valley Coalition site.
Or you can attach it as a comment below. (We review all comments before posting them to the site. We review comments daily.)

What do we stand for?
Nothing less than the simple values of fairness and neighborliness.
- Communities that want power and need power should build the power plants they need in their own neighborhoods.
Are you listening, Washington?

This evening (Jan. 7, 2007), despite a miserable rain, more than 30 property and business owners from the Capon Springs-Yellow Spring-Wardensville met at the Yellow Spring Ruritan to exchange views and voice our opposition to proposals from out-of-state power companies to run yet another huge power transmission line through our communities.
These power lines benefit power sellers in Pennsylvania and power-hungry users in the Washington-Baltimore metro areas … but they do nothing for West Virginia’s beautiful Capon Valley but scar the landscape, harm our environment and damage our property values … and rob our children and descendants of their heritage.
Perhaps in the past, we acquiesced too easily. Not this time!
NOTE: (Updated Jan. 16, 2007) Join our effort to defeat this power line by emailing your name, address, phone number and email address (if you have one) to caponvalleycoalition@yahoo.com. We will use that information to send you updates.
There is NO FEE to join Capon Valley Coalition. This is an all-volunteer organization. At some point, we may ask for contributions, but we are not doing so now, and this is a free organization of concerned neighbors. We expect to keep it that way.
Take a look at all the ways you can help in the Take Action section.
