Capon Coalition Fights Power Line Proposal (Moorefield Examiner)

    February 14th, 2007

The Moorefield Examiner carried this report on Feb. 14, 2007.

    New Maps … Dirty Tricks?

    February 14th, 2007

Allegheny Power has put up new route maps on its APTrAILinfo.com Web site.

You have to look carefully to notice the differences in the routes.

You have to really look carefully to notice that they are changing Route numbers.

A diligent property owner in Ashton Woods in Hardy County makes the point that those of us who wrote letters to protest the power line and cited specific route numbers to make our protests more specific now appear not to know what we are talking about.

Allegheny could just say, “That route doesn’t go through there.”

In fact, the note at the bottom of the page — you DO read fine print, don’t you? — says, “The routes have been adjusted and differ in some locations than those displayed at our public open houses in November and December.

    Let’s be clear.

    We OPPOSE ALL ROUTES.

Allegheny has not made a case for this power line.

Don’t oppose one route. Oppose the entire project. Sign the petition.

    Say NO to TrAIL.

Hardy County, Your Turn Feb. 20

    February 14th, 2007

Hardy County supporters. It’s your turn to make an impression on your County Commissioners.

We have a 15-minute slot at 2:30 p.m. next Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the County Courthouse in Moorefield.

We need people to show up, stand up and be counted. Literally. Numbers matter. That’s why it is so important to sign the petition. Numbers mean strength.

Retirees, make a day of it. Go over for lunch and stay for the meeting.
