<description>I do some consulting work with Virginians for Sensible Energy Policies, a group that is particularly concerned about by a proposal by Dominion to construct these proposed high-voltage transmission lines, seizing private property and creating a forty-mile scar across the Piedmont in the process. The bottom line is this: there is no proof that Virginia will need the additional electricity. According to the American counsel for an Energy Efficient Economy, Virginia ranks in the bottom ten states in regards to efficient use of energy. Our group encourages Dominion power to seek energy alternatives and wants the state of Virginia to adopt energy policies that encourage energy efficiency.
