					<description>My wife and I own 55 acres located in Scherr, Grant County , of which Allegheny Power will acquire at least another 7 acres (they have an easement for 4 acres for the existing power lines on my property).  We have been contacted periodically since the beginning of  this proposal to grant Allegheny Power and easement.  We feel that intimidation tactics used by representatives were intimidating and harassing. We were notified this morning (August 7th) by a representative that the Commission had granted approval of the Powerlines. We would be receiving a letter by next week informing us that the project will be built and that eminent domain will be used if needed.  We were also informed that we had the right to file an appeal through the courts.  And land owners will have 10 days to file an appeal. 
The destruction of  land, wildlife, decrease in property value, and overall threat to the quality of life is a great price to pay many of the landowners who will be forced to give up part of the property for this project.  The cost offered for an easement and the amount of "free electricity" being given, does not account for the lose of natural resources and wildlife, qualilty of life and the unknown cancer risks (as research has not investigated all types of cancers), the costs that homeowners will incurr to build the powerlines,  and the continued responsibility of the landowner to pay property taxes on "dead" land, in no way covers the losses incurred by the landowners.  
 I am contemplating filing an appeal in the court at this time.  Being from out of state at this time, I am looking for guidance to find legal counsel to assist with an appeal.
