    What’s New

    Our Web site is changing rapidly, with new home page postings, links and files being added all the time.

    To help you keep track of the changes … so you can see everything that’s new, whether you visit every day or every week … we are keeping this log. Consult it often!

    New blog posts appear on the front page and get listed in the “Recent Posts” box on the right.

    March 6 (Tue) — Uploaded new versions of the Petition and Position Paper on “Tools” page.

    March 5 (Mon) – Effective today, “News” will be added as blog posts and categorized as “Media Coverage”. To just see news clippings, click on “Media Coverage” in the Categories box in the right column.

    March 4 (Sun) — CVC Web site goes live at www.caponvalleycoalition.com; old site at caponvalleycoalition.wordpress.com remains as a shell only.

    February 28 (Wed) — Created a new version of the CVC Web site at a new address: www.caponvalleycoalition.com.

    February 27 (Tue) – Deleted a number of old versions of the petition and flyers from the “Tools” page.

    February 24 (Sat) — Multiple changes, including:

    Added a PDF file of the official Hampshire County Commission resolution opposing TrAIL to the Feb. 13 blog post, “Hampshire Commissioners SayNo to TrAIL” and to the “Tools” page.

    Added five clips from the Hampshire Review and the Moorefield Examiner to the “News” page.

    February 22 (Thu) – Added Rappahannock Times article to “News” page.

    February 19 (Mon) — Added a new position paper, “Stop the Transmission Line“, to our “Tools” page. The paper has the new CVC logo on it. Very nice.

    February 13 (Tue) – Multiple changes, including:

    Added Washington Post clipping to “News” Page.

    Revised Letter Writing Tips page to mention Hampshire County Commission vote against TrAIL.

    February 12 (Mon) – Multiple changes, including:

    Added a new page with Letter Writing Tips.

    Added a one-page Position Paper to the “Tools” page.

    Added two clippings from the Cumberland Times-News to the “News” page.

    February 7 (Wed) — Added link to Laurel Run Community Watershed Association, which is fighting the power line in Preston County.

    February 4 (Sun) – Loaded a new version of the petition on the “Sign Our Petition” and “Tools” pages. Removed old petition from “Tools” page. Please ask everyone who signs to give either a phone number or email, and preferably both. It’s important to be able to contact folks on short notice. Thank you.

    February 3 (Sat) — Multiple changes, including:

    Added maps of Hampshire County (with TrAIL routes and property lines marked) and Hardy County (no property lines available) to “Tools” page.

    Added links in Blogroll to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) “How to Get Involved” section, the West Virginia Highlands Conservancy, the West Virginia Public Service Commission (WVPSC) and the National Electric Transmission Congestion Study.

    Added information on how to contact the WV Public Service Commission to the “Take Action” page.

    Added a September 19, 2006, clipping from the Energy Legal Blog entitled “FERC and DOE Lay Groundword for Federal Transmission Corridors” to the “News” page.

    Also added a January 16, 2007, clipping from the Fauquier Times-Democrat entitled “Data Dearth — They might as well have been talking to a wall” to the “News” page.

    January 30 (Tue) — Multiple changes, including:

    Added links to Say No! We Won’t Glow!!, a Prince William County (VA) group opposed to the power line, and to the Prince William (VA) Conservation Alliance.

    Added a new, cleaner-looking version of the Petition to the “Tools” page. (The petition wording remains unchanged; you can use either version.)

    Added Flyer #2 to the “Tools” page.

    January 29 (Mon) — Added “What’s New” page.

    January 28 (Sun) — Multiple changes, including

    Added “News” page and three clippings.

    Added “Tools” page & links to one flyer and the petition.

    Added contact information for Gov. Manchin to the “Take Action” page.
